Houzz released their 2018 U.S. Houzz Kitchen Trends Study of popular home improvements and here's what they found:
1. Decluttering is changing the way kitchens are designed and what people are looking for. This means more built in cabinet storage organizers, dish organizers, pull out waste bins, wine/bar cabinets etc.
2. Engineered Quartz has taken the lead over granite which has seen it's popularity shrink in 3 consecutive years. Countertops are the #1 item homeowners are willing to splurge on! Although I confess to spending a healthy amount on quartzite and marble last year... I love the natural stones!

There’s been a lot of discussions over the last few years in Council Rock. There was the decision in 2017 to keep Rolling Hills open and renovate it & Wrightstown Elementary.
In 2016, the construction of a new Newtown Middle School on the same grounds and an expansion and renovation of Holland Middle School were approved and expected to be completed by the start of the 2018-19 school year. The stats for Bucks County's housing market were great in 2017. In the last half of 2017, the average sales price was 6.92% higher than in 2016 and just 1.79% below the peak. A big reason for this is the historically low inventory, the age old supply and demand conundrum.
We also reviewed the absorption rate to measure how strong of a Seller’s Market we really have. This chart shows how long it would take to sell all of the homes currently on the market, based on how many homes sold last year. A balanced market is 6 months of inventory. More than 6 months is a buyer’s market and below 6 months is considered a seller’s market.

Newtown’s Annual Holiday Open House Tour is Saturday December 2nd from 10 am - 4 pm. This is the 55th year for the tour! Checkout the link for tickets, see which homes are on the tour and learn about the original tour in 1963. Many of our clients have had their home on the tour over the years.
