Veterans day is this Saturday, November 11th originally named Armistice Day, this day of remembrance has been observed since 1938. There will be a handful of events, ceremonies, and parades throughout the weekend to honor and celebrate those who have served to protect our nation.
Council Rock North High School Assembly
The Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society, Principal Susan C. McCarthy, Vice Principle Daniel Griesbaum, and the Morell Smith Post 440 of the American Legion and special guest former United Sates Army nurse, Captain Lynn O’Brien, of Holland will be hosting the ceremony.

Veterans Day Ceremony in Northampton Township
The four Honored Veterans represent the following eras: WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq/Afghanistan.
Saturday, November 11th | 55 Township Road, Richboro | 2 p.m.
The ceremony is expected to last 30 minutes refreshments and snacks will be provided after the ceremony.
Veterans Parade through Yardley, American Legion Post 317
Yardley Mayor Chris Harding, American Legion Commander Ted Smith and distinguished guest speaker Robert Craven will be speaking at the ceremony.
Saturday, November 11th | 215 South Main Street, Yardley | 10:20 a.m.
The parade will stop at the Yardley Monument (1660 Edgewood Rd.). The Veterans Day Observance and Ceremony will begin at 11 a.m.
Ceremony in Yardley commemorates local U.S. Army Nurse
Miss Miriam E. Knowles, a member of the Nurse Corps with the American Expeditionary forces in France, and a George School Alumni passed away in France 100 years ago of scarlet fever.

Katherine Sipio, George School communications and marketing team; and Ellouise Schoettler, a spoken word artist will be attending the ceremony.

11th Annual Veterans Parade and Commemorative Ceremony in Lower Makefield
